As always we enjoyed a great facility at Eddyville track and the wonderful hospitality. We will be racing Eddyville again at the World Fuel Altered Nationals on August 18th, 2018. Come join the excitement and a great dragway.

Door Warz 2017 Cordova IL Recap
The weekend at the Door Warz event at Cordova International Dragway was great.
We brought 13 cars, Huffman, Hoffman, James, Eveland, Kaylor, Rice, Tavoletti, Blasey, Steinhofer, Ted, Joe and Brandon Beach, Wambolt, and George Gregory w/ his 66 Mercury Comet, The Hulk, came as a guest to round out the field for a total of 14. Thanks George!
We made a couple runs Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Saturday night we made 4 passes with just 15-20 minutes between the last 2! Cooling fans and battery chargers were working overtime for many of us and apparently proved a bit much for Jack’s Rambler
Didn’t give us much of a chance to watch the Super Shifters, Top Sportsman, and others including a handful of Funny Cars. Guess they consider the whole body opening up a door, lol! We did have time to offer Birthday wishes to LaVonne Blasey, and share the yummy cake Brian surprised her with.
Hopefully everyone making repairs will have time to get them done during our 3 week break, as our next events are not until the the end of Aug: Mikey Jones Memorial Aug 19th and the return of the World Series Aug 25-26. Both of these events are held at Cordova.
The World Series of Drag Racing 2017
This was the first year back at Cordova Race Way after a failed attempt to move the fabled event to Memphis in 2016. The move turned out to be a disaster as the race was not supported by the racers or spectators.
The 2017 event held at its birthplace of Cordova International Raceway was a huge success. The stands were packed and the pits were full with racers and spectators the entire weekend. The weather was perfect on Friday with a few sprinkles on Saturday but not enough to dampen the spirits of the fans or the on track action.
The NGRA had an awesome turn out with all of the following drivers and teams in attendance:
1–Bryan Huffman–33 Willys Truck
2–Jesse James–40 Willys Coupe
3–Bill Eveland–55 Pontiac
4–Kip Galloway –61 Falcon
5–Joe Kaufman–51 Henry J
6–Ted Beach–37 Chevy Coupe
7–Brandon Beach–58 Chevy
8–Joe Beach–56 Chevy
9–Steve Rice–48 Studebaker Coupe
10–Gary Blasey–40 Chevy Coupe
11–Jim Walker–41 Willys Coupe
12–Ken Kapper–52 Henry J
13–Bill Wamboldt–55 Chevy
14–Wayne Blank–57 Chevy
The even number made for some great match racing on Friday afternoon and evening. The group made a total of three passes in front of a strong Friday crowd.
Saturday was full of meet and greet activities in the pits with young and old drag fans. Ken Kapper claimed he had 100 kids sit in the driver seat over the weekend. Saturday night was the big show filled with Top Fuel Harleys, Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars, Pro Mods, Nostalgia Super Stock and of course Gassers. The group made two passes in front of what was close to a capacity crowd. Crowd favorites were monster John Force Memorial side by side Burnouts out of Joe Kaufman and Ken Kapper as well as tail dragging wheelies from Brandon Beach who also cracked the 9 second barrier with a 9.9x’s pass. Overall everyone put on a fantastic show for the crowd and were well received.
On a side note: Happy Birthday to Ken Kapper and Happy Anniversary to Jess and Berti
November 4 & 5, 2016 – ADRL Race, Gateway Motorsports Park – Madison, IL
Everyone thought that Super Chevy at Gateway on Oct. 15th. was our last race of the year. With a lot of effort from Ken Kapper we were invited to another race at Gateway on Nov. 4 – 5th, 2016.
We were invited by Larry Jeffers that now owns the ADRL. American Drag Racing League.
The weather was tremendous and we had a good showing of 10 cars. A few of our racers had all ready put their cars up for the season, but we had :
Bryan Huffman – Ken Kapper – Tom Cray – Mark Campbell – Bob Mitchell – Ed Miller – Rob Rothweiller – Mark Dulle – Jack Kaylor and Rod Urish.
We had two runs on Friday and four runs on Saturday. There was quite a variety of classes in competition with some very fast cars. The show kept the crowd entertained at all times.
Jack Kaylor worked on his new engine and got it together in time to get it fired and loaded on the trailer. He was very happy as the little Rumblin Rambler made some 6.50 1/8th mile passes. Ed Miller broke his rear end on Saturday and Mike Cray filled in with his beautiful 35 Ford. Great job Mike!
They had a burn out contest going and Ken Kapper had at least a 660 Ft. burn out.
On the last run of the day Ken broke a rear axle.
We had our Chili by Bob Mitchell and Hot dogs by Mark Campbell and assorted other foods that everyone pitches in with.
It was a great race weekend and we will see you at the Spring Races.

Thanks Ohio guys for adding to our show.
We all matched up with approximate times for our runs. We all made great runs and put on a GREAT show. We had a few mishaps. Mark Dulle pulled a huge wheelstand and ended up bending his front axle. But he wowed the crowd!
Ted Beach had engine problems late in the event. With Ted’s great experience, when he developed engine wows he immediately shut it off and pulled over to the side, out of the lane and safely brought it to a stop. Great job Ted!
We had two runs on Friday and thee runs on Saturday, with the final run at 9PM.
We had our usual feast for our Saturday afternoon meal with our volunteer cooks–Jim Predeau and Danny Mann. Thanks guys, great job.We had some delicious home grown beef provided by Rod Urish, fresh off of his ranch. We gathered up late Saturday night around Dave Walters fire pit for racing stories and camaraderie. The fire pit was very welcome as it got kind of cool in the evening.
We had a Great time and looking forward to next season.
Thanks,
Bryan Huffman
