Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association

We had a GREAT first outing of the year at the Nitro Chaos at Eddyville Raceway Park-Eddyville, IA. With the forecast of 60% rain, we had a few cars that were a good distance away call off from the race. We all know what fuel cost these days.

The weatherman was totally wrong for the area. On Friday night we had perfect weather and made some nice passes. On Saturday the weather was also very good, with one 5 minute delay. It was a great day for Drag Racing! Everything went great and the show was over around 10PM. Thanks to Gerald and his entire crew for such a GREAT facility. After the days events we gathered for some adult beverages and comoraditie. See you all at Cordova, Ill for their Funny Car Chaos. The Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association raced at the Central Illinois Dragway in Havana, Ill on June 12-2021, in their Spring Nostalgia Event. It was a little hot during the event, but it did not keep the track workers from providing a killer racing surface. To show it, Chuck Baird in his Wild Side front engine nitro dragster set the track record at 3:49 E.T. @ 212 MPH. Our entire club had lots of great runs with lots of great friends race talking about their runs. This was a great race weekend. So be sure and attend their Fall Nostalgia Event on Sept. 18-2021.

The Nostalgia Gasssers Racing Association raced at Cordova International Raceway on June 11-12-2021. This was their Nostalgia Nationals Event. We had a GREAT group of cars, with all of us making good runs. Several of our cars had career best E.T.’s. It was a hot day, but we had a nice breeze all day making it a great day to be at the track. They had the track well prepared and kept it well prepped all day. They had several other groups participating making it a GREAT show.

The Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association raced at the Funny Car Chaos event at the Eddyville Raceway Park. This is one of their premiere events of the year featuring 30 plus Nostalgia funny cars. So our group was a natural fit for this event. We had ten club members and one guest car. We ran a couple of runs on Friday and then at the Big show on Saturday we made three runs. We made our final run to be the Finale of the event. The crowd loved us as they were waving and hollering and cheering us on. All in all, it was a GREAT event, that the Gassers, as always were crowd pleasers.
